Forest Bathing

Would you like to come to the forest
and bathe in the frequency of trees?
Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku, is a practice that involves immersing oneself in nature, particularly forests, to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Originating in Japan in the 1980s, forest bathing has gained popularity worldwide as a form of nature therapy and preventive healthcare.
The practice of forest bathing entails slowing down and mindfully engaging with the natural environment using all the senses. Participants take leisurely walks through forests, taking in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of the forest surroundings. They may engage in activities such as observing wildlife, listening to birdsong, touching tree bark, or simply sitting quietly and breathing in the fresh air.
Research has shown that spending time in nature, particularly in forest environments, can have a multitude of health benefits. Forest bathing has been associated with reduced stress levels, improved mood, enhanced immune function, lower blood pressure, and increased feelings of relaxation and well-being. The phytoncides, or natural essential oils, released by trees are believed to have a calming effect on the nervous system and may contribute to these therapeutic effects.
Forest bathing is not only a way to escape the stresses of modern life and reconnect with nature but also a holistic approach to promoting overall health and vitality. By immersing oneself in the healing power of forests, individuals can experience a sense of rejuvenation, restoration, and harmony with the natural world.

For 5 years, we have been enjoying the benefits of living immersed in the forest of Pollock Pines and 8 minutes from Jenkinson Lake. Come to our home in the trees and experience a healing session. We can also journey together on the beautiful trails at the lake, or have a kayaking adventure.
